Kembla Watertech has invested considerably in the purchase of innovative technology and in the training of our personnel in order to offer cost effective solutions to critical environmental problems such as deteriorated sewers. There are a number of lining technologies currently being used overseas that are yet to be tried and proven in Australia. Kembla has the capability to appraise these systems and to determine if they represent an opportunity for cost saving in the Australian market place.

We have a proven track record which is second to none in the introduction and operation of new technology into Australia.

The company has been active in the pipeline rehabilitation market since 1993. Kembla now has a team of over 120 experienced and trained personnel who employ state of the art proven trenchless technology systems from around the world.

Numerous projects have been completed for major authorities and other clients throughout Australia and the total length of linings installed by the company now exceeds 800Kms. Over 120km of lining was installed last year alone.

Kembla Watertech offers a range of specialised techniques, all based on No Dig pipe repair:

PRELIMINARY WORKS:

  • Engineering Assessment and Design: Kembla employs a number of experienced and specialised Engineers who can prepare detailed design and assessment reports in accordance with Australian and overseas Standards
  • CCTV Pipeline Surveys:  Using the latest CCTV camera equipment, Kembla Watertech undertakes survey of pipelines from 100mm dia. to man entry size. Complete condition reports are provided in accordance with industry standards.
  • Pipeline Cleaning: High Pressure water jet pipe cleaning and root removal including a specialised “easement reel’’ for access to backyards and other difficult sites. Recently added are specially developed CCTV/Jet Cleaning units for de-rooting of  connections without the need to access the property.

SEWER AND GRAVITY PIPELINES:

·         Ex method (fold and formed) PVC pipe lining:  This system involves the expansion of a continuous coil of specially formulated PVC pipe to form a tight fitting solid walled structural liner within the existing host pipe.

·         Enviroliner CIPP system: Renovation of pipelines using resin impregnated felt tubes which are cured in place to form a structural pipe within the pipe (Cured In Place Pipe).

·         Channeline system: Structural GRP segmental lining for any shape man accessible pipe.

·         FlexiLiner: A small bore lining system capable of lining house service lines down to 100mm diameter including bends.

·         Tiger T: A resin impregnated T section for structural repair and sealing of pipe connections.

·         Tiger Patch: A fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) patch is remotely positioned to structurally repair localised pipe defects.

·         Kemseal: Chemical grout sealing system for pipelines, house service lines and manholes.

·         Internal Robotic Repairs and Junction Reinstatement: Robotic cutting equipment is coupled with various CCTV cameras to enable internal repairs and junction reinstatement after lining.

  •  Pipe Bursting: Pipe Bursting employs a special bursting or splitting head that is either pushed pneumatically or pulled by hydraulics through existing pipes while pulling into place behind it a new pipe, usually Polyethylene.  A major advantage of Kembla's 80 tonne burster is the ability to increase the diameter or 'upsize' the new sewer pipe.
  • Beaver H Expander: An hydraulically powered machine for re-rounding deformed   pipe sections remotely from within the pipe.

        WATER & PRESSURE MAIN RENEWALS:

  •       AMEX 10: Internal joint sealing system used for the sealing of leaks in larger diameter gravity and pressure pipes.
  •  Pipe Bursting: Pipe Bursting is equally at home in water and pressure main renewal work.  Kembla has its own pipe bursting equipment operated by full time staff with many years experience. There are major savings in using pipe bursting instead of excavation to replace old pressure pipes.
  • Close Fit Lining:

Close Fit lining as the name suggests involves either slip lining or any one of a number of other proprietary close-fit PE and PVC liners for pressure mains.  Linings of this type are achieved by pulling the liner pipe through the host pipe and depending on the system used, modifying the liner pipe to reduce it’s diameter.  This enables the liner pipe to enter the host pipe and then expand to give a tight fit against the inside of the host pipe.  In the case of Slip Lining a smaller diameter liner pipe is used.  Through our association with several partner companies Kembla is able to access close fit lining systems for the Australian market if appropriate.
