Salinity Management
Description of Process
Sewer (gravity) asset systems within tidal zones may be influenced by saltwater ingress that may unnecessarily increase discharge volumes. This may be an expensive consequence for asset owners as it increases transportation and treatment costs. This unnecessary flow may increase the risk of a system to reaching design capacity and hence increasing the probability of system overflows (failure).
Kembla Watertech is able to provide management strategies for the collection of data to calculate and report on levels of saltwater infiltration. This information provides a platform for options for cost effective system rehabilitation and maintenance.
Typical Applications
Typically this management methodology is used for gravity fed assets located near tidal influenced zones below High Water Spring Tides; however the methodology is also able to be adopted to analyse infiltration caused by naturally occurring groundwater conditions.
Available Sizes
Monitoring and salinity management is suitable for all pipe sizes, shapes and configurations.
