Manhole Rehabilitation Starts When Leaks Are Stopped

Leaks are symptoms that appear at the surface, but the causes are much deeper. unlike surface patches, Kem-Flex products are designed to go to the cause and stop leaks at their source. That’s the difference between a temporary fix and a permanent solution.

Coatings and Linings
Most manholes can be effectively sealed using Kem-Flex polyurethanes by themselves. However, sometimes it is necessary to upgrade the structural integrity with a lining material or protect the concrete with a coating.  In either case, you should seal the leaks with polyurethane grout to take pressure off the manhole so that your coating or lining doesn’t fail in the future. There are two Kem-Flex products designed to solve the problems in manholes.

Kem-Flex Hydro Gel Forms either a flexible water-tight foam or an impermeable gel that seals around pipe joints and foundations.

Kem-Flex 920 Expands up to 2,500% to stop gushing water and fill voids with a rigid foam.

Treat the problem or treat the water?
Water leaking through joints and cracks in a manhole overloads treatment plants and reduces the capacity of sewer lines. The cost of treating this water is far greater than the cost of solving the problem.

Where does infiltration come from?
Leaks also carry sand and gravel into your system. This increases wear and tear on pumps in the lift stations. Many of these leaks can be eliminated quickly, safely and cost effectively using Kem-Flex grouting products.
